Welcome to WinAlpine Junior Team. We are looking forward to a great season for our junior development ski racers. WinAlpine is excited for excellent training, great coaching, added events this year at a competitive cost.
Participation in the JDT 2025 program is for racers 8-14 years who are ready to learn how to ski race or advance in their ski racing skills.

To create a successful and elite junior ski team by balancing personal development, training, goal setting and competition; meeting the needs of each individual racer.
Available JDT Programs for the 2025 season:
NEW 2025** 1) JDT Award - Each Sunday AM of the season $400
2) JDT Silver - traditional 2 days per week (Thursday PM and Sunday AM) $975-
3) JDT Weekend - training 3 days per week (Friday PM, Saturday AM & Sunday AM) $1475-
4) JDT Gold - most popular program allowing racers to ski up to 6 days a week (Tuesday PM, Wednesday PM, Thursday PM, Friday PM, Saturday AM & Sunday AM) $1875-
Applications are collected through our new online registration form and payments are due in full by December 1; WinAlpine JDT fees include all coaching at Cannonsburg and Schuss during planned training or race days. Trips & races away from Cannonsburg are billed at $20/day per participant to cover coaches travel fees.
In order for us to help staff and plan for a successful season, all applications received after December 1st will incur a $200- late fee. Late fee does not apply to new members and/or racers joining the WinAlpine JDT team for their first season.
Race entry fees and transportation to races are the responsibility of the each racer / family.
Season Passes and New Racers
Lift tickets and/or passes are not included in the cost of any program, travel or away event.
Racers new to WinAlpine are eligible for a Discounted season pass at Cannonsburg. Must be enrolled in any 2025 program and contact need to Cannonsburg ticket office directly for discount.
Season passes at Schuss / Shanty Creek are available for significant discounts for WinAlpine enrolled racers starting at $29/ season for 8 & under, $219/season for 9-12 year olds and $299/season for 13-17 year olds only thorough the Shanty Creek Season Pass office by calling (866) 901-3149. Racers must be enrolled in any 2024 WinAlpine program and will be confirmed by Schuss Shanty Creek. Day tickets are available the lowest prices only at https://lifttickets.shantycreek.com
Parent Participation
Parent participation is highly encouraged. WinAlpine will charge a $100 fully refundable volunteer fee in addition to tuition fees at time of registration. The $100 is refundable when you volunteer for any race event, home function or fundraiser. Sign up genius will be used for all events. WinAlpine will accept the $100 volunteer deposit as a donation for those wishing to not full-fill their volunteer obligation; electing to not receive a refund / credit.
Online Registration and Payment
WinAlpine uses an online registration and payment form. This form is easy and all payments (deposits) will be made by checking or savings account (transfer); if payment is desired by credit card extra processing fees maybe assessed. You will be provided an invoice and summary of billing, with additional information as requested (for tax purposed). Use this link to proceed to online registration.
Email Club List
Email is how we communicate with you, so please check it regularly. It is very important to check for messages from us each day before you leave for training, or races, to see if there are any changes in the schedule. Please use the email in the registration process that you will be checking frequently.
Equipment Consulting
This is the time to check your equipment and make sure it is all safe, sound and the proper size. We have great resources to help you make the right choice for equipment and get set up for the upcoming season. It is never too early to get your equipment ready. If you have questions (do not be shy, it is better to prepare equipment now than the first day on snow). Ski racing is great when we make the best equipment choices we can in order to prepare ourselves for future success. All ski equipment consultation will be done virtually this season, over email, or with 1:1 appointments.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS
JDT Award (January - March 2025) $400/season
Training is set at Cannonsburg each Sunday (day skiing). With a total of 10 training sessions over 10 weeks / weekends.
Sunday training is scheduled between 10 AM and 12 NOON
Racing and travel at JDT is optional, fun and a great way to gauge your progress. With this program, the coaching coast for our “home” JDT race at Cannonsburg will be included. JDT will offer training at home even if some racers and staff are traveling to away races. Race fees (travel fees) are billed at $20/day additional to tuition. Race entry fees are extra for all events.
JDT Silver (January - March 2025) $950/season
Training is set at Cannonsburg each Sunday (day skiing) and Thursday (night skiing). With a total of 20 training sessions over 10 weeks / weekends.
Sunday training is scheduled between 10 AM and 12 NOON
Thursday training is scheduled between 6:15 PM and 8:00 PM
Racing and travel at JDT is an optional, fun and a great way to gauge your progress. JDT will offer training at home even if some racers and staff are traveling to away races. Maximum number of race days for 2025 is expected at 8 with additional 3 pre-event training day. Away race fees (travel fees) are billed at $20/day additional to tuition.
Race entry fees are extra for all events. Total number of coached days for JDT Silver 2025 is expected at 28 including possible events
JDT Weekend (December 13, 2024 - March 2025) $1450/season
JDT Weekend training is for training and racing only on Friday (early evening) and Saturday/Sundays. Weekend training is offered at Schuss Mountain each 3 day weekend.
In this program - racers can also attend the Sunday training at Cannonsburg.
Race entry fees are extra for all events. Total number of coached days for JDT Weekend 2025 is expected at 36.
JDT Gold (December 13, 2024 - March 2025) $1750/season
JDT Gold training is specially designed for racers wishing to reach their maximum racing and training potential without the added uncertainty of cost with travel and restriction at the USSS / Race Team level. Midweek / night training is offered 3 nights per week at Cannonsburg (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday). Weekend training is offered at Schuss Mountain each 3 day weekend (Friday PM, Saturday & Sunday) and at Cannonsburg (Sunday only).
Race entry fees are extra for all events. Total number of coached days for JDT Plus 2025 is expected at 60.

Race participation is not mandatory; it is a great way to measure progress, have fun and see a few different ski areas. Costs range from $30-$40 entry fee per day. Entry fees usually include the cost of lift tickets and lunch. Dates are always subject to change

Training and Event Race Bibs
WinAlpine and other local teams have agreed to use single team issued bibs for all JDT races this season. Each racer will be issued a race bib with a unique number (and possibly last name) they will use (over jacket or suit) for training and at each race event. Race registration will be online and pre-assigned bibs will eliminate the need for day of registration and the need to stand in line. Race bibs are a great affordable alternative to team clothing and are included in the cost of JDT registration. A extra bib (identical) is available for purchase and proceeds help to support our limited fundraising ability.
Good Faith Policy for JDT
As we all venture through uncertain times; still concerned with health and safety, fighting increasing Michigan temperatures and unpredictable ski area management we want to make sure you feel that your investment in ski racing is valued. Our Good Faith Policy will help you feel safe in enrolling, training and investing in ski racing with WinAlpine JDT.
Deposit is 50% of tuition payable via emailed invoice link. Full payment due prior to the first day of training in your selected program. Tuition fees are non-refundable after the first day of training, regardless of racers participation on the first day.
In the event that the minimum number of on snow days (training & racing) is not met during the 2025 season, a pro-rated amount will be returned to each participant. The proration will be based on 40% of tuition being non-refundable and the 60% balance of tuition will be prorated on the number of days we were / are able to be on snow subtracted from the minimum number of days expected to be on snow. The number of snow days is a combination of training days and race days.
